Acid and alkali resistant multilayer stainless steel sintered mesh
Product Description
Sintering can be carried out on most types of woven wire mesh. The main reason for sintering wire mesh is to bond all the wires together to eliminate the migration of the media. Woven meshes are generally prone to edge wear. One square inch of 100 mesh contains 200 wires that are in contact at 10,000 contact points - too much to bond one at a time through any other process! However, if properly sintered, almost every point will melt solidly. Then, even a small disc can be punched from the cloth without wear. This is critical in many applications, such as medical filtration or aircraft hydraulic fluid filtration, where loose wires can cause catastrophic failure. In addition, once the wire is fused, the mesh geometry is permanently fixed. The wire cannot move under pressure, so the aperture size remains stable during use.
